Present their newest addition....

"Byron"

November 10th, 2007 was the big day when I left the Nielsen Home (OwyheeStar) and flew to live with my 'forever family'.  Here is the beginning of my story framed in pictures.  Left you see my Dad (Matt) awaiting my arrival at the Long Beach airport.
Above you can see Dad with Tigger the angel who carried me safely from Boise, Idaho to Long Beach.  As you can see it didn't take me long to get out of the bag and into Dad's arms.  I was giving him a little kiss.

We didn't live too far from the airport so before we knew it I was at my new home.   I needed a bath.  I had a little accident in the carrier.  Tigger said she felt bad for me but she cleaned me up.  Mom and Dad didn't seem to mind too much but soon after we got home I got another bath.  Their sink is smaller than Shela's so I don't think we will be using the sink too many more times.  I will be growing quickly.  Wow Mom and Dad had a really nice blanket to wrap me in after my bath too.  Then we went to having fun and getting to know each other.  I have an older sister.  Her name is Lola.  She is much larger than my real Mama.  I think we will be friends once she gets used to the idea that I am here to stay.  Hey if you want to see more pictures of my Weimy Sister Click Here and it will take you to her Web Pages.  She is quite famous in the Long Beach area.  Well they say there will be more updates and pictures coming so watch me grow!  Also you can read what Mom & Dad had to say about me if you scroll down on this page.  Thanks for stopping by to see me.

This puppy is Matt's first ever puppy!  He and Carlin recently married and she already had Lola.  He and Lola became fast friends and he is looking forward to training Byron and enjoying all those special Weimy experiences!
We took him home and have been doting over him for the past couple of hours.  He is WONDERFUL!!  He is a little sleepy, so he's taking a nap.  He hasn't poohed yet, but peed several times on the grass :)  (whew)  We are downloading photos right now and will send them as soon as our batteries charge.  He is gorgeous!!  Thank you so much again and tell Tigger we said thank you again!  --early afternoon

He cried and cried today when we put him in his crate!!  But he actually fell fast asleep :)  We'll take him out when he wakes up.  I forgot how piercing a weimy cry can be...it pulls at my heartstrings!!

He just pooped solid! And he ate a half cup of food!!
We are sooo happy!!
Ok, got to run, he is sniffing lola's food...

Byron had a great night last night. He was put in his crate at about 10pm after going potty outside. He went right to sleep. He woke us up around 2am requesting in his puppy ways to go potty. We took him outside to do his business and then back to the crate. He went right back to sleep.  This morning he woke up around 7am and did not cry. We let him out and fed him and for the first time since we brought him home.....Lola played with him!!! As you know, Lola has been weirded out by this new "thing" running around the house and taking all the parents time. So this is a huge step in the right direction. Lola is starting to see that Byron is not a threat. It was so cute to see Lola pushing Byron over with her nose.

We have started to teach Byron to sit and he seems to be learning quickly!!

All is well on our end. I hope the other puppy parents are doing well.

Much love to you two.   Matt 11/14/2007
Hey it is Byron reporting from Long Beach!

We had a very busy day and my sister Lola and I had to have a nap before I dropped you a note.  As you can see Lola went out into the Ocean.  We both played on the beach a lot.  Lola has more pictures on her own Web Page but I thought you might like to see what my sister can do.  I think she likes me a lot.

I like sticks too but I don't go into the ocean to get them.  Dad seems really proud of me with my stick.  He says I am going to learn all kinds of great things.
