Hi Shela,

Bocce is doing great.  We say his name and he immediately runs to us and sits (we haven't taught him to sit...he just prefers to do it...I guess its easier to look at us that way) with his eyes glued to ours.  We're so happy with him.  His temperment is perfect for us.

Question:  On the day we got him, he smelled lovely.  today it's rainy and although it's not "bad"...he's starting to smell a bit more than the cute puppy smell.  How often can we bathe him?

Shela's Answer:  I bathed him a mild shampoo and rinsed him really good.  The great smell was the Groomer's Cologne which makes a huge difference.  We have tried all kinds of colognes but the one we like best is sold at Walmart for less than $4 last time I checked.  Stick with a tear-free shampoo and use a little of it as possible.  Avoid tree tea oil and anything that could both a Weimaraner's skin.  They tend to be allergic to many things.  I would bathe them about once a month unless they need it more often once they are grown.  Puppies are close to the ground and get dirty faster.  As a rule of thumb I would try to bathe no more than once a week, but sometimes that doesn't work.  If you have more questions let me know.

I just wanted to drop a line to tell you how happy we are with bocce.  he has completed changed our lives and we are having a non-stop blast with him.  it is astounding to see his progression during these last 5 days.  he's now a biter, jumper, leaper, yelper, follower, and whiner extraordinaire....and he's finally interested in things other than us.  it's great that he's finding things to do.  at first we couldn't get him interested in anything at all.  now, he's loving everything.  we've got several management tools in place to help get through the chewing season.  though we haven't slept that well, and we're nearly zombies, he is a great new joy to our lives.

Again, thanks so much for being fantastic throughout this entire process.  we'll weed through the 2.8 million photos that we have so far and fwd some to you.

Bocce's happy with us and we're happy with bocce!
